Evolution VI-980x400_edited_edited.png

This 1999 Mitsubishi Evo started it's Journey with us back in 2024.

It was rescued from a run-down garage, which in-turn led to engine issues and severe corrosion.

We always love a challenge, so took on the massive job of restoring or replacing every single nut, bolt or component.

THE BODYSHELL:

One of the biggest issues with this car was the abundance of rot to the chassis.

We started by cutting out any rot and replacing with fresh material.

Areas replaced include:

  • Rear Chassis Legs

  • Sills

  • Front Of The Floor

  • Fuel Filler Flap

  • Front Arches

The shell was then coated in Rust Converter and 2k Epoxy Primer.

Any joints were Seam-Sealed.

We used an underbody liner protective coating on the underside and then painted with a 2k Scotia White body colour.

THE ENGINE:

Whilst it was already fitted with some upgrades such as a big intercooler and an Evo IX hybrid turbo - The engine had spun a bearing due to  oil starvation and this meant a full rebuild and new crankshaft.

Our finished engine spec:

  • 2.0L 4G63 Turbo

  • Mahle Motorsport Forged Pistons

  • Bridgeway JI Beam Forged Conrods

  • Motorsport Bearings

  • Kelford 272 Camshafts

  • ID 1000cc Injectors

  • EVO 9 Hybrid Turbo

  • Motorsport Intercooler and Hardpipes

  • ECU Master Engine Management

THE CHASSIS:

Suspension:

Ohlins R&T Full Suspension Kit

Bushes:

Powerflex & OEM

Brakes:

Evo 6 Brembo 4 pot calipers on front. 2 pot on the rear.

Godspeed discs, PFC pads and performance fluids.

Wheels/Tyres:

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Wheels with Michelin Pilot Sports 4 Tyres.

Geometry:

Custom 4 wheel alignment using our extensive knowledge.

THE INTERIOR:

The original seats were quite worn down, so we found a low mileage interior from another car to replace them with.

We've added an Apple Carplay unit and some uprated bulbs to the instrument clusters for ease of use.

Air-Con is in the PIPEline (excuse the pun). The car came with this already removed so we are having to source the parts.

We have also replaced carpet where needed and finding this wasn't all that easy!
